Congratulations to the Newcastle City Over 50s Handicap Snooker Team who defeated ECBC 1 by 2-1 to win the 2025 Nev Agland Shield. Wins to Terry Caslick and Gary Thompson.

Commiserations to ECBC 1 who had a great season. Thanks to Belmont 16ft Club for hosting the final.

Highest break for the season was scored by Steve Eaton (Newcastle City) – negative handicap player – who scored 50 in the major semi-final and Chris Baker and Don Flanagan – positive handicap players who both scored 38.

IMPORTANT – Ordinary Resolution outcome and revised draw for Tony Tamplin (2024 Winter season)

Dear Club Presidents, team Captains and Members,

  1. Following the Special General Meeting (SGM) and hearing of the ordinary resolution, please find attached the minutes, outcome and any supporting documentation.
  2. Also attached is the revised draw for the Tony Tamplin competition resumption. 

Note this includes any matches which are to be replayed as per the ordinary resolution passed at the SGM.

Junior Snooker Competition

An under 18 years of age, juniors competition will be run by the Cessnock Snooker Club starting on Friday the 21stof June at the ECBC.  Names to be in each Friday by 5:45pm.  The competition will be of a handicap nature and will run over twelve weeks using a points based system. Entry is free.

All players will start on a handicap of +8.  Players will lose two points should they win the night or gain 2 points should they lose for their handicap the following week.  The maximum handicap will be +16 and the minimum handicap will be scratch (zero). The game will consist of four reds and the format will depend on the number of players present. (round robin or knock out).  Each player should be of a suitable age & size to physically play on a full size snooker table without assistance.

A parent or Guardian must be present during the competition.

There will be two Snooker related prizes at the end of the competition, one to the points winner and one by a lucky draw.
