2019 Elwyn Jones Billiard Shield Winners

Congratulations to the Kahibah Sports Cobras who managed to defeat the minor premiers, the Kahibah Sports Kingpins by 2 games to 1, in the 2109 Elwyn Jones Billiards Shield.

Both Kahibah teams had a great season and the Kingpins pipped the Cobras to take out the minor premiership. However, the Cobras extracted some revenge by prevailing in a hard fought Grand Final.

A special thanks to John Duchatel who put his recent Grade 3 Refereeing Certificate to good use in officiating one of the matches. Also to Belmont 16′ Sailing Clubs Brian Bourke and Peter McKenzie for their assistance. Belmont 16′ Sailing Club also played hosts for the Grand Final with their newly reclothed tables which were a pleasure to play on.

Grant Schubert took out the season high break with a 148.

Foul & Miss – Tony Tamplin Finals

Team Captains,

Due to the haphazard use of the Foul and a Miss rule during the 22 rounds of the competition , the NDBSA committee has decided on a definitive method of application of the rule for the finals

At the toss of the coin for each pairing , the marker shall ask the two players if they wish the Foul and a Miss Rule to apply in their match.

If either or both players say YES , the Foul and a Miss Rule SHALL apply to their match .

If both players say NO than the Foul and a Miss Rule will not apply to their match

The Marker’s ruling on whether a fair attempt has been made is final

Good luck in the Finals

Cheers

Bill Marshall

Secretary

NDBSA

Neil Fatania wins 2019 Winning Smiles 14 & Under Snooker Tournament

Neil Fatania showed the potential we always knew he had in winning the 2019 14 & Under Snooker Tournament on the weekend. Neil won all his matches with the scoreline at either 3-0 or 3-1 which was impressive considering it was a handicapped tournament. After Kahibah Sports Dave Foxley looked like he was going to finish Neil’s run in the final after winning the first frame convincingly but Neil then won the next 3 frames to take the title. Thanks to Wangi Workers Club for hosting the tournament and our sponsors – Winning Smiles
