Wangi Worker’s No.2 2016 Tony Tamplin victors!

Wangi Worker’s Club No.2 has taken out the Tony Tamplin Shield after defeating the favourites, the Cessnock Ex-Services Club No.1. Although the score line was 3-1 the matches were close and Cessnock could have easily won 3-1 had the balls run a little kinder. However the Wangi team held their nerve in some tight matches to claim the premiership – well done to Wangi. A special thanks the the Belmont 16′ Sailing Club for hosting the final. Another Wangi player, Kiah Bloomfield took out the seasons highest break with a clinical ’83’.

The Cessnock Ex-Services Club again showed their strength in claiming the 2016 Minor and Major Premiership in the Premier League. Mayfield put up a fight after a strong start with Rob Elsley defeating Steve Boyce but Jason Henderson defeated Luke Green who was experiencing cue troubles, and Chris Mungoven who made a 61 break to defeat Richard Evans.
