Congratulations to Cessnock Ex-Services Club No.1 for taking out the minor premiership for the inaugural 2015 Tony Tamplin Shield. Cessnock No.1 showed consistent form throughout this season and was in either first or second throughout the year. Cessnock is joined by both Belmont 16′ Sailing Club No.1 & No.2 teams as well as Mayfield Bowling Club No.2 as the four finalist. Well done to the finalists and well as those that missed out on a finals position. Venues for the finals will be posted as soon as they’re confirmed.

The NDBSA wants all its members to enjoy snooker and billiards in its’ various events. Being a competitive sports where there are winners and losers, players can experience disappointment and frustration. As adults, all members are expected to show respect to their team mates, their opponents and spectators at all times. If you witness any breaches of this expected etiquette you are encouraged to notify the Association as soon as possible so we can address.
If you are someone who acts poorly during NDBSA competition know that continued poor behaviour will result in suspensions.
Some examples of poor behaviour:
Captains have a responsibility to not only act according to the NDBSA Code of Conduct, but ensure their players also act according to this Code. See the 2015 Captain’s Log.

The ever consistant Rob Elsley has taken out the $3000 Newcastle Open beating Central Coast and Sydney challengers. Rob won the best of 7 final 4-2 against Ekachai Hormhuan from the Central Coast. Terry Jennar, also from the Central Coast, took out the high break prize with a 70. Other notable performances were from Luke Green who made the quarter-finals whilst managing tournament director duties, Brad Main who made Rob did deep in his quarter-final match and Steve Miller who also made the quarters. A special thanks to Wangi Worker’s Club and Belmont 16′ Sailing Club for the use of their venues and for the many locals who entered the tournament and turned up to watch the fantastic matches. Well done to everyone involved.
