Well done to Joe defeating Eric Bauer who is making a comeback to billiards after a long break. Joe and Eric both played well throughout the day giving start to most opponents. Grant Schubert took out the highest break with a 54. Thanks to Kahibah Sports Club for providing the venue.

Congratulations to Annette Clifford (pictured left) of Cessnock Ex-Services Club in winning the 2017 Newcastle District Handicaps Snooker Singles (16+) Event. Annette defeated Cathy Small (pictured right) in the final 3 frames to 2 in a nail biter.

Wangi Worker’s Club snooker players featured strongly in the tournament with 3 of the 4 semi finalist from that Club.

Phenomenal result for the only two ladies in the tournament who both saw off all challengers to reach the finals from their respective halves and highlights their significant talent for the game in a traditionally male dominated sport.

Thank you to Belmont 16′ Sailing Club for allowing us to use their great Snooker Room and preparing the tables for each days play and to Chris, Grant and Neil from the Association for organising and running the tournament.
