Start Times
- Belmont 16ft , ECBC , Newcastle City , Nelson Bay – 6.30pM

frame is not required if a player wins 2-0 and each match between 2 teams
has 5 games
The local ‘mercy rule’ means a frame is lost if a player requires more than
three snookers plus one point after the last red is sunk. The ‘mercy rule’
doesn’t apply to the deciding frame in the round robin matches and only to
the first frame in finals .
One (1) competition point is awarded per frame won
Two (2) bonus points are awarded to the team that wins the night
(maximum 12 points can be won on any night - ie 10 frames won and 2
bonus points awarded)
Winner on the night is determined by game wins NOT frame points (eg :
Team A wins 3 games and Team B wins 2 games. Team A wins the night
and is awarded the 2 bonus points)
Handicaps
Players are ranked according to their handicap and their opponents are
chosen from the opposing team by their corresponding rank.
Handicaps are subtracted before games start and the lower ranked player
receives the difference in handicaps as start to a maximum of 40 points
Both captains MUST verify and sign off on handicaps before the match
begins.
After each match , winning player’s handicaps are reduced by 2 and losers
receive 2 handicap points .
Largest handicap for the John Lund competition is 38
New players must start on a 32 point handicap unless their club committee
gives them a lower handicap to suit their skill level – new players winning 3
games straight will have their handicap reduced by a further 4 points
unless there are extenuating circumstances.
The NDBSA handicapper can alter a player’s handicap during their first
competition season.
Handicaps will be frozen for the last three rounds of the competition
General

higher team on the final points table.
The Grand Final will be played at a NEUTRAL venue with 3 or more
tables.
The order of play for the finals will be drawn out of the hat unless both
captains agree otherwise.
As snooker club venues have a varying number of tables ( 2 , 3, 4 ,8 ) the
captains will determine the number of matches played first but it is
preferable that (time permitting) at venues with 3 or more tables , the first
2 games are completed before the last 3 pairs begin so that all players are
involved in the final result.
The home team in the finals ( team ranked higher in final points table) ,
has the right to choose which tables the games are played on.
The NDBSA will endeavour to supply referees and neutral markers to
finals , otherwise the home team will supply markers with assistance of the
